Do Labradoodles make good pets?

Hey, so were getting a labradoodle puppy early this May. We thought it would make a great choice and would make a wonderful pet. We found a really good breeder and everything. She sent us pictures of the puppy and its so cute. We are getting a apricot femalelabradoodle. She is going to have a wool coat. Is the wool coat supposed to be better than the fleece coat?? We chose the wool coat because it is supposedly better for mine and my familys allergies and asthma. I wanted to know if any one has one and can tell me about theirs?? Like does yours need lots of excercise?? Are they really nice dogs?? And i was curious to know if females were better to have than male labradoodles?? THANKS!
