Where did the Philistines put the captured ark of the covenant?

It was taken to Ash'dod, to the House of Da'gon. But this it struck the inhabitants of the land with piles (hemorrhoids) so bad that they didn't know where to take it to get rid of it! They took it next to Ek'ron next, but the people there didn't want the ark either. So the eventually, they gave it back to the nation of Israel and the Levites came and recovered it. Very interesting account.
