If God used evolution to create us, do evangelical Christians defy God by saying evolution is a lie?

Ok I'm just going to say this. In the Bible when it sas God created the world in seven days, you can't exactly take that literally. In Hebrew the word for day can also mean age. The people that translated the Bible chose day. Evolution is very possible in Christian beliefs. The sad thing is that very few of us accept it and get dominated in arguments against it.
