Ever wish a t.v. parent was your own?

I know it's awful, but sometimes I wish my father wasn't my father. I won't go into details, but my relationship with him is not good. I am 27 now, but I still have a tremendous longing for a quality father/daughter bond. I wish I had a father like the one on Gimme a Break! because I really like him a lot. He was imperfect but still great. There's probably other t.v. dads that most people might think are better than him, but he's the type of father I have always longed for. I know it's beyond terrible for me to feel this way. Whenever I watch Gimme a Break! I want him to be my father.
