1986 Mustang GT camshaft upgrades?

I want to keep the speed density system for now but I am curious. Can I add a different, more lopey camshaft to it? I do know I do not have recessed pistons but I do think they are forged? Also, what type of stock camshaft is in there now? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike~!
